Kingdom Stewardship

Rely Wholeheartedly on the Lord

The more turbulent the circumstances, the more you need to rest and be still. Do not panic or be afraid; trust that God is in control of everything. At the same time, ask God, “What should I do?” Seek counsel from the right people and follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Even in instability, remain firm in faith—hold on to hope, wait patiently, and persevere in prayer. As Romans 12:12 says: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Perhaps when some people lose their jobs, they consider retirement or starting a business. At such a time, it is important to understand God’s will and to discuss it with your spouse and family. If you are thinking about retirement, first consider what you will do afterward. Are your savings sufficient? How will you plan your daily life in practical terms? If you are considering entrepreneurship, you should first think about what kind of business to pursue. What are you good at, and what do you enjoy? How are the experience and knowledge you accumulated in your past career related to the business you want to start? Do you have the network and capital required for entrepreneurship? It is best to seek advice from those who have successful entrepreneurial experience and are spiritually mature.

Whatever decision you make, seek God first. Read and memorize Scripture more, so that you may know and firmly believe in God’s promises and provision. Husbands and wives should also pray in unity, asking for God’s guidance, and then seek counsel from respected spiritual elders.

In addition, you need to carefully observe changes in your environment, understand industry trends, and pay close attention to information from your workplace. Take stock of your gifts and strengths, assess your financial situation, and actively seek possible opportunities from multiple sources.

Be prudent in what you say and do, stay watchful in prayer, and respond calmly. Prepare for the worst while making the best preparations. Trust in the Lord wholeheartedly, and do not rely on your own understanding.
