injured tree

In the winter before 1989, I came to North America. In a quiet white world, I only fall in love with the trees that have lost all their leaves but still stand in the cold wind.

"Look, how beautiful these trees are!" I couldn't help but say to my companions. "What's so good about these bare trees? It will be beautiful when spring comes!"

What my friend said makes sense. The new greenery in spring is heart-stirringly beautiful; the shade of green trees in summer is so relaxing; and the layers of red maples in autumn are intoxicating. But I still can't forget the brave and lonely tree in the harsh winter. Look at the branches stretching toward the sky, aren't they silently telling the beauty of life?

I often take a closer look at the woods beside the road after a snowstorm. Some could not withstand the wind and snow and were blown down. Some branches were broken by the heavy ice and snow. The evergreen cypress tree in front of my door was also weighed down by the thick white snow. My heart aches for them, and I often feel like I’m hurt. After the snowstorm, the injured branches were broken and dead, but as long as they were not uprooted, they still stood there, ready to face the challenges of the next snowstorm.

In a blink of an eye, spring has arrived, and every tree seems to have made an appointment. All of them sprout green shoots overnight, seeming to declare to the earth: The cold wind can blow away my green leaves, and the heavy snow can take away my branches. , as long as my life still exists, there will always be opportunities for green leaves.

Isn’t it the same in human life? Wind and snow are inevitable. Whether it is an unfortunate encounter or torture caused by illness, it all depends on how you face it! Some people encounter difficulties and fail to recover; some people are seriously injured but can still make a comeback.

If the blow of marriage is an unavoidable storm in my life, I would like to become a tree standing in the cold winter - or a wounded tree! May the love of Heavenly Father heal my wounds and give me the strength to blossom into a new green life after going through the storm.
