First try cry

On an autumn afternoon in 2005, my husband and I met with Carlo and Ingrid, the former executive pastor of Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, at an Italian restaurant on Madison Avenue near the Manhattan Library. Ingrid Boekstaaf met. Ever since I got to know them through my translation of the best-selling book "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire" by Jim Cymbala (senior pastor of Brooklyn Tabernacle Church), we have become good friends. Don't let go of the opportunity to meet easily.

At dinner, we talked to each other about what was going on. I introduced to them the newly published first issue of "Kingdom of God Magazine" and explained the founding philosophy, vision and purpose of this magazine one by one. I passionately shared every page of the magazine in English to the best of my ability, fearing secretly that they would not be interested in its content. Unexpectedly, both Carlo and Ingrid were very excited and asked me when the magazine would be released in English.

I was stunned for a moment, in English? Anyone want to read? But the couple immediately responded to me. The features of the magazine I mentioned are also needed by English readers, that is: publishing forward-looking, breakthrough, challenging and practical articles to encourage and challenge readers to discover themselves. With their talents, they constantly break through the limitations and traditional frameworks of themselves and the external environment. In the positions called by God, they try their best to use their gifts to serve others and influence society, thereby participating in the establishment and expansion of the kingdom of God. Their words have stayed with me ever since.

In the past two years, many Chinese readers have asked me whether I would consider publishing an English version of "The Kingdom of God Magazine"? Because they are happy to introduce their relatives and friends who are accustomed to English to read this magazine.

Last summer, 21-year-old Leng Xinyi accompanied her parents, a speaker, to the KRC Cultural Practice Camp to attend the editorial meeting of "The Kingdom of God Magazine" and watch the movie "Shrek" together. Xinyi volunteered to speak in English After writing a review of my class with Professor Shrek, I told her that I would seriously consider publishing it.

My son, 19-year-old Jun'an, is the person who dares to challenge me the most. When he showed me the article God Beyond the Temple, I was greatly shocked. Through these two young friends, I knew that God was guiding the birth of the English unit. Although Pastor Bucaro, the founder of this unit, passed away in August 2007, their vision and encouragement are of great significance to me and will always be in my heart.

In order to give friends who are accustomed to reading Chinese a preview, we have specially translated the two texts into Chinese and established this new unit "New Voices of the Kingdom", hoping to build a bridge for discussion and exchange between different generations in the Chinese church community.
