Personal Retreat—Pilgrimage

Thank you to the 47th issue of "The Kingdom of God" magazine for introducing some relevant information about the Pilgrimage Route to Santiago, Spain. Although the article is only one page short, I watched "Six Roads to Santiago" (Walking the Six Roads to Santiago) according to the documentary recommended by the author. Camino: Six Ways to Santiago), and other related films, provide a further understanding of this journey to the Holy Land.

As the author Faith Wen Walter said, as Christians, embarking on a pilgrimage allows us to deliberately carve out a holy space and bring us closer to God. This can be regarded as an extended personal retreat. .

Perhaps only truly embarking on the road of pilgrimage will force busy modern people like us, including Christians, to deliberately simplify our lives to the most basic style. Because when we are busy and immersed in a self-sufficient "normal" life, it is often difficult to get close to and feel God deeply.

I hope that in my lifetime, I can personally visit the author's reception station in Spain and start my personal best retreat - "Pilgrimage".

It’s about calling, not gender.

I am very happy to see the author Zi Ying vividly describing the details of "Pastor Zhang Lingxi's Thanksgiving Dinner Party" in the 46th issue. Because we were present at the dinner party in person, this short article feels particularly close to us. This article is followed by a short article "Oops!" written by Pastor Zhang himself. Twenty years! 》, corresponding to each other, repeatedly recounting God’s grace in Pastor Zhang’s life. From Pastor Zhang’s life-long service journey, we learned: When God wants to use a person, He looks at whether the person is willing to accept His call, not whether the person is a man or a woman.

when invisible

An article in the 47th issue of the "Kingdom of God" magazine, "The Invisible Time - Jian Hailan's Spiritual Notes Traveling Through the Tunnel of Life," moved me very much. The author Jian Hailan was widowed 22 years ago, became a Christian, and has been engaged in single parent ministry for more than ten years. Taking care of my seriously ill mother in recent years has been extremely hard, as if I was in a dark tunnel of life. However, because of her faith, she persevered in God's love and finally found an outlet in life. This article inspires and encourages many people who are suffering: "Every wound in life is an entrance to God's power and love."

Every little bit of inspiration has a big impact

I like the series of management articles written by Elder Lin Yuanchang very much and they have given me a lot of inspiration. Sometimes, some challenges in work and life are very detailed and seem to have nothing to do with faith, but their impact is very significant. Elder Lin's sharing makes my heart shine every time. I can better clarify the problems I am facing and give appropriate suggestions to relatives and friends with management responsibilities. For example, in the article "The Legacy of Good Housekeeping" in Issue 47, Elder Lin gave an example of giving department managers a chance to make mistakes of NT$1 million when he first started his business. This example helped me better understand what delegation is, how to pass it on, and expanded my risk tolerance. It also helped me educate my children - I can more proactively give my children more room to make mistakes, so that they have more room to make mistakes. Multiple opportunities to learn and grow from mistakes. Thank you, Elder Lin, and thank you to Professor Wen Yingqian, the editor of the talent section, and all the co-workers of "Kingdom of God". May God use your sacrifices more and edify more people.
