Responses from readers of Kingdom of God Magazine

Christian magazine "Tianxia"

After reading "The Kingdom of God" magazine for many years, I suddenly discovered that the authors and editors of your magazine have practiced "deliberate creativity" over the years. No wonder the National Library of Taiwan has requested to include all previous issues of "The Kingdom of God" magazine into its collection. The curator also praised your publication as "the Christian magazine "World".

Missionaries’ care cannot be neglected

It had been less than four years since I was baptized into the Lord, and I still didn’t understand the missionary mission. But I will never forget the Swiss Father Wei who was like family when I was young.

In the early days, many foreign missionaries came to Taiwan. They integrated into the local society, went arduously into remote rural areas, touched people's hearts with the love of Heavenly Father, and practiced medicine to help the poor. They made great contributions to the progress of Taiwanese society and were respected by others.

It wasn't until I watched the movie "Silence" that I realized that missionaries face more life threats, humiliation and persecution than pioneers.

After reading the 66th issue of Kingdom of God magazine and the special report on "Evacuation from Afghanistan", I understand better that missionaries in pagan countries still have to face heavy resistance and risk their lives.

Author Shi Lihui calls on readers to "view missionaries as flesh-and-blood people just like you and me." They also have the tensions in the intimate relationship between husband and wife, as well as the challenges of raising children. Our clear understanding “gives struggling missionary couples the confidence to reveal their weaknesses.”

After I was baptized and joined Royalton Baptist Church, I discovered that on Facebook, Senior Pastor Joseph Choi often described how he cooked and baked bread, how he and his wife, who was also a pastor, interacted with their three children and enjoyed family life. It was completely subversive. My stereotype of pastors being uptight and serious.

After reading this article, I realized that Pastor Cai, who is called Brother Jian by his young colleagues, has already understood this truth.

God’s grace threads the needle—Escape from Afghanistan

As time goes by, people seem to have gradually forgotten the suffering in Afghanistan, but I believe that God’s salvation for the Afghan people will not be forgotten! Issue 66’s timely report on the escape from Afghanistan made me seem to experience the same nervousness as the Christian who fled Afghanistan during the reading process. Thinking about three true stories related to Afghanistan that happened almost at the same time, at that critical moment when people were in danger and panic, and people's lives were at stake, but God's grace was seen everywhere, it really made people marvel at "How amazing grace is." ah!
