Did you see that?
I remember nearly twenty years ago, when I was the editor of The Messenger, Elder Yang Jiashan came back from Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia and excitedly talked about setting up a Christian school there. After that, the school continued to develop, and he shared the new progress with everyone every time - the school added several more places, opened a university... He invited me to visit Kyrgyzstan several times, but I was always too busy to go. Last year, Elder Yang passed away gloriously. This year, I finally made the trip.
When he was sixty-five years old, Elder Yang gave up his successful career and became a missionary with his wife. They went to Central Asia, a country with inconvenient transportation, backward facilities, and language barriers, to do a major undertaking for which he had no experience at all—opening a school. Twenty years later, I saw five primary and secondary schools, two orphanages, a special education school and a university; I heard one student after another tell how their lives had been changed.
God once said through the prophet Isaiah, "You are a righteous nation that earnestly seeks the Lord by hardening your body and fasting and praying every day." But the fast God wants is to “take away the chains of sin, undo the cords of the yoke, break every yoke, and set free the oppressed, give your food to the hungry, welcome the homeless and the poor Give clothes to the naked, and do not hide from your relatives who ask for help.” In this way, “Call, and I will hear; cry, and I will answer.” (See Isaiah 58)
"The call to do justice" is also the annual theme accepted by this year's "Kingdom Resources for Christ". The meaning of believing in the Lord is not to get a ticket to the kingdom of heaven, but to do what the Lord does.
Elder Yang saw that people in Kyrgyzstan needed to know Christ, and also saw that orphans and poor children on the streets had no chance to receive education, so he started an education program. Today, more than two thousand children each year receive a good education and have the opportunity to know the truth.
What about us? Do you see the injustice around you? What should you do after seeing it? What can be done? More parties? More familiar with the Bible? Longer prayers? Please don't miss Sister Wu Shuyi's new column "Muyi & Xingyi" in every issue. Let us have a sensitive and sensitive heart to see what the Lord sees and do what He wants us to do.
The Kingdom of God Literary Camp has been running for 20 years, but the country’s need for literary talents continues to increase. It calls for more people who are trained, willing to equip, accept the kingdom’s vision, have vision, enthusiasm, and are willing to be tempered and grown. wordsmith.
Therefore, this year we did not focus on the 20th anniversary celebration, but on preparing and organizing a complete writing camp. This year’s training camp from November 9 to 13 is the first step in comprehensive training. It not only trains how to write, but also how to find inspiration, organize thoughts, broaden horizons, and challenge thinking. As long as you have the heart to try words, whether it is as small as journaling, as large as word ministry or literary creation, this word camp will open a new page in your life. There are many such testimonies among us. Please don't miss it, because future picking and organizing classes will be based on this year's training. Please see information on page 5 for details.
This literature camp will have many missionaries from outside the United States. They need your financial support. Including other camp expenses, it will cost about US$20,000. In addition, the annual budget of the KRC ministry in the United States is US$138,000. Currently, it has received a donation of US$$7,000 and still needs US$131,000. I believe this is an opportunity given by the Lord to you and me to give, so that we can participate in the building of His kingdom together. Please remember this in your prayers. May God reward you with the abundance in Him.
As this magazine goes to press, we heard that Sister Wang Guangxia, a pioneer in European missionary work and an advisory committee member of this magazine whom we respect very much, has passed away to her heavenly home. Thanks for her long-term support and encouragement in the launch and development of KRC ministry. May the spirit that touched her touch you and me even more!
