We invite you to pay attention, observe carefully, and observe
At KRC’s first prayer meeting in 2021, everyone shared their personal views on what they would no longer do and what they wanted to do in the new year. Habits that may seem trivial have insurmountable challenges in the face of change, and we need each other's encouragement, reminders and prayers to persevere. Maybe you would also like to think about what you want to change or stop doing, and what goals you want to start doing and achieve.
At the beginning of 2021, there was a lot of worrying bad news. The epidemic reached a new peak, and even more contagious mutant new viruses appeared. The U.S. election, which affects the whole world, is even more turbulent, full of doubts, and constant chaos. This is a situation I have never experienced in the nearly 40 years since I came to the United States. What's wrong with this country? What will happen to the world situation?
Since October last year, the KRC team began to seriously seek the annual theme for 2021. Over the years, annual themes have not only helped us focus, but also prepared us to face the challenges of the new year. This time, we received and meditated on the Bible John Chapter 14 Verse 6, Romans Chapter 12 Verses 1-2, and 1 Timothy Chapter 6 Verses 11-12; thus we decided that the theme for 2021 is: "Focus on the truth, pay close attention to the details Observe the times and observe what you know and what you do.” As soon as we entered the new year, we were shocked to realize that God was indeed speaking to us through this theme, bringing great peace and strength.
Indeed, we live in an era where values are confused, true and false are difficult to distinguish, and right and wrong are unclear. My friend, a child who grew up in the church and whose parents were happily married, chose to live together without marriage and argued with various theories and reasons, leaving his parents with no room to resist. During this U.S. election, tensions abound between generations of parents and children over opinions on same-sex marriage, abortion, racial issues, and even controversies over capitalism, socialism, and the social assistance system.
In the postmodern era since the 1960s, many people no longer even believe in absolute truth and believe that everything is relative. Therefore, people no longer have beliefs that they can live for or die for, and it is difficult to have any rules of conduct or benchmarks for judging things.
In 2021, not only is the end of the epidemic far away, the economic prospects are bleak, the world political situation is even more worrying, and war seems to be about to break out. In an era of uncertainty that seems hopeless, how should we judge and make personal, work, career, and family decisions?
Therefore, we decided to follow the inspiration given to us by God the Father, focus on the truth, explore and carefully observe the pulse of this era from God’s words and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, discern the direction and steps, observe the actions of the world and God’s deeds, and deeply explore it. knowledge, and live out the testimony of heavenly culture cautiously and courageously. This is2021The theme of the year: Pay attention to the truth, carefully observe the times, and observe knowledge and behavior.
When I browsed the proofread manuscripts of this issue, the emotion that emerged in my heart was "happiness". I felt like I was in a house surrounded by windows, opening one window after another. Watch carefully, and you will be shocked to see that even in the epidemic and uneasy world, God's children are conscientiously and contentedly contributing, managing, and planning in the fields where they have received their calling; they uphold the truth and spread the seeds of love among their neighbors; in the midst of the epidemic, When people begin to think seriously about the true meaning of the church, they discover that the church is always our home! From every article, I learned new knowledge, got inspired, and was moved; some I took notes and planned to apply them in my work in the future, some I wrote down so that I can pray about them often, and some I wrote down for more in-depth study. the key of. I thank God for every author and every fellow editor!
2020 was a difficult year financially, but we got through it safely because of your support. We have accepted everyone's suggestions and added many ways to give. Please go to the KRC website (https://e-krc.org/) to find out which way of giving is right for you. May Father God bless you.
