the perfect gift

When my son was a child, he loved watching a puppet cartoon: Little Drummer Boy. In the film, the lonely child who had nothing but a drum went through all kinds of hardships to worship the newborn Jesus Christ.

When he stood in the long line of congratulatory people and saw people coming from far and near carrying expensive gifts, the little drummer found that he had nothing to give as a gift and began to feel sad about his poor self-esteem. Until suddenly the idea struck: "Ah, I can play the drums for Jesus!"

As soon as his drum beat, people looked up one by one, their eyes brightened, their spirits were lifted, and the baby Jesus also smiled at him. This little drummer will never be the same again because Jesus has completely changed his life!

My son never gets tired of watching it, so I watch it again and again with him. Even so, we were moved to tears again and again. Why is this little story so touching?

In fact, everyone is like this little drummer in some aspects. When walking on the road of life, sometimes they can't help but feel disappointed and frustrated, like a slave. They can't help themselves, but they must swallow their anger. There are pressures from work, career, economy, interpersonal relationships, etc. , making us feel inferior to others in everything. But when the little drummer gave what he thought was insignificant, the situation suddenly changed, and he was also changed. It turns out that what he offered was the most precious gift—himself.

Christmas always brings to mind gifts, because it was God the Father who first gave us the model of gift-giving—He gave us His most precious Son, Jesus Christ. In addition, God the Father has given each of us a unique gift and talent. My dear friend, you can also be like the little drummer and dedicate this gift of talent to Him.

In this issue, in response to last year's continuous praise, we continue to select and share with you the wonderful and true stories of five books in the "Life Tonic" series published by the "Kingdom Resources for Christ Association". Hope, like the beat of a little drummer, can help you lift your head, cheer up, and continue the wonderful life ahead. Finally, I wish you a safe and happy Christmas!
