Ohua: A lesson in love

In this beautiful early autumn in Boston, I got to know and get to know the teachers and classmates in the classroom deeply. God’s love is among us, and God’s Spirit works mightily, allowing us to trust, accept, and encourage each other. We were able to discuss some current and controversial topics in depth and openly: racial discrimination, gay marriage, abortion, etc.; we learned about issues such as family of origin and forgiveness with focus and empathy; we also shared our personal experiences with authenticity.

I once again experienced the power of God’s love demonstrated in the group. This is a lesson in gaining knowledge and touching hearts in the presence of God, bringing about real change and experiencing the love of the Body of Christ. Thanks to God’s grace, we are all broken but deeply loved by God. Because of God’s salvation and power, we overcome our weaknesses, receive blessings from God, and bless our neighbors and the world where we are. Let us always remember: “He brought me into the banquet hall, and set his love as his banner over me.” (Song of Songs 2:4)

Xie Suying: Learn to forgive

I discovered that my original thoughts and views on things, as well as my current personality, are so closely related to my family of origin. Because my parents love each other harmoniously, I have dreams about marriage and am alert to the differences of each individual.

Learning to forgive should start with yourself and has nothing to do with others; start with deciding to forgive yourself and others. Unforgiveness is a sin; complete forgiveness takes time, but not everyone needs the same amount of time. To forgive completely requires constant building of faith and self-confidence. Ask God for help in apologizing to the other person and seeking full reconciliation.

Simonn:Required course

This class has been of great help to myself and my family life. This is a required course for everyone. I also understood the depth of the Lord’s love for me and used this lesson to help my husband-wife relationship, parent-child relationship, and general interpersonal relationships.

Lin Lishan: A role model for teachers

Thank God very much for being able to attend Teacher Guo and Teacher Liu’s classes this year. Their life as a couple is a great role model for me. They are so humble!

Interactive learning is used in the class, and students are very active in sharing their personal experiences. Topics discussed include: family of origin, complete forgiveness, racial discrimination, abortion, and same-sex marriage. The course is exciting, practical and rich!

I also learned to self-examine, understand myself better, and pay more attention to the way I interact with others, which also helped me become more wise in serving.

Lin Minwen: Mutual trust and sharing

In class, everyone tells their life stories freely, and the teacher can pick out the key points and teach the principles of relationship. In a short period of time, the students created an atmosphere of mutual trust, shared their painful or happy experiences, and received God's comfort and healing together.

The management of interpersonal relationships requires knowledge based on truth and a heart of integrity. Through the guidance of teachers, the students have grown further.
