A Blessed Journey to the Pilgrim's Home

The article "In the Company of Travelers" written by Wen Xun in the 39th issue of the "Kingdom of God" magazine describes that after many years of hard work, she, her husband and her co-workers finally realized the initial vision of going to Spain to pioneer the pilgrim evangelism work--in the Catholic Church. Among the three holy places, the Pilgrim House is located near the Santiago Cathedral.

My wife and I visited San Diego from the end of April to the end of May this year, visited their family, and personally visited the Pilgrim Home. We saw many pilgrims carrying backpacks coming to receive various services. The Pilgrim House holds regular gatherings so that pilgrims can get to know each other and share their spiritual journey. There are bookshelves in the back lounge, which provide various spiritual books, including the "Chinese Bible" and "The Gospel of John" we brought this time (provided by the Messenger's Study Room). We hope that pilgrims can contact the gospel and receive salvation.

There are currently two couples (with six children in total) and two singles serving as full-time staff at Pilgrim Home. Soon another couple with children will join the ranks of full-time staff. They are all young people who have moved thousands of miles from the United States for the sake of the gospel. The married ones have young children and have left their homes to come to a foreign country. Their spirit is admirable. We encourage Chinese Christians from all churches to also participate in this ministry, but the prerequisite is that they must first walk on the pilgrimage route (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camino_de_Santiago for an introduction) and walk at least 100 kilometers to reach the cathedral. , can you engage in short-term missionary work in the Pilgrimage House. If you would like to donate, please refer to the website (www.pilgrimhousesantiago.com).

Giving is “returning” what God has given to us

After reading Professor Wen Yingqian's article "Between Giving and Gaining" published in the 39th issue of "Kingdom of God" magazine, I felt a lot moved and gained in my heart. We are created in the image of God, and He hopes that we will live a holy life of God, glorify God and benefit others in this world, and become a letter of recommendation for Jesus Christ.

How do Christians please God with money and glorify God and benefit others with donations? Professor Wen reminds us that we need to realize that we are creatures and God is the Creator. Everything I have belongs to God. My ability to make money, work ability, wisdom and talents all come from God. Therefore, all my money belongs to God. I only have the "right to use" and "the right to manage". God truly has the "ownership".

My house, car..., to be more precise, "God's house, car...". First, I must offer myself fully as a living sacrifice, as is natural (Romans 12:1-3), and then be a good steward to God. A good steward should possess three qualities: loyal, kind, and knowledgeable (intelligent, wise, and good at planning, see 1 Corinthians 4:2; Luke 12:42 and 16:10-11, etc.). If we have the right attitude when dealing with money before God, it will be easier to tithe according to biblical principles. What's more, we are strangers and sojourners in this world. Tithing according to biblical principles has so many blessings. Do you still hesitate?

"Doing the right thing" is more important than "doing it well"

After reading the article "Humility, the Source of God's Blessings" by Elder Lin Yuanshang in the 39th issue of "Kingdom of God", I really feel the same way. Management itself is not difficult. Simply put, it is how to use resources effectively and efficiently. Each of us is "managing" our own lives every day, but the results are a matter of opinion. In school and the workplace, we spend most of our time and energy on increasing efficiency—how to achieve the most results with the least resources. We want to do the thing right, but doing the right thing is more important.

If you can satisfy the requirements of your superiors and customers at the same time, and do what God wants, of course it won't be a problem. But most of the time, when "people's hearts plan their own paths," deception, exploitation, and plagiarism occur. If a manager does not have a humble and obedient heart, his goals will be offset, his strategy will be out of focus, and his organization will be loose, just like running without direction and punching the air. Let us manage our lives, families, and jobs with humility and obedience, and then protect the earth's environment. We should properly care for and manage the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock on the ground, and the entire earth and everything that crawls on the ground. insect.

The candid and brave testimony of father and son

I read the two articles "Love, Nowhere to Hide" and "Let Go, But Don't Give Up" in the 39th issue of your magazine. The story of Pastor Xu Zongshi and his son Kaili deeply inspired me. Indeed, only love and patience can move people. This made me reflect on the fact that when I was dealing with my children in the past, I might have been too eager to change them and was harsh in my words. He is also kind to outsiders, but does not respect his own children enough. Thank you Pastor Xu and his son for your brave testimony.

There are rules to follow when worshiping and respecting ancestors

My elderly parents have been baptized, and we began to think about the etiquette details for them once they return to their heavenly home. Among the seven siblings, the only boy is not a Christian and worships idols with his sister-in-law. What method should be used for the funeral of parents? Will it cause extreme dissatisfaction to the younger brother and lead to sibling discord? I feel really troubled. I read two articles in the 39th issue of "Kingdom of God", "Passing on the Fire" and "When the Gospel and Tradition Collide". They included explanations of the truth vs. traditional etiquette, methods of worshiping ancestors and funerals that are in line with the truth, and step-by-step instructions. Christians have rules to follow, so that Christians no longer have to bear the grievance of "forgetting their ancestors, being rebellious and unfilial" because they cannot kneel down, worship, or smoke incense. I can "peace my mind" now!
