Responses from readers of Kingdom of God Magazine

Online magazines are pleasing to the eye

I am a long-term reader of Kingdom of God magazine. Since the beginning of the epidemic, I have spent more time online reading various online magazines. I am very happy that "Kingdom of God" has also launched an online magazine. I don't have to wait for the postman to deliver it. I can enjoy the digital page-turning reading experience online.

I like to use my iPad to open online magazines. I first look at the article titles and beautiful pictures on the inside pages of the magazine, and feel the sense of reading by turning pages. For articles that I want to savor in detail, I can also open them on the website and read them attentively. The cover design is very artistic, especially the inside pages also have explanations of the cover, and the overall feeling is very refined. Sitting in the backyard on a hot summer evening, reading Kingdom of God magazine not only makes me think, but also brings enjoyment to my eyes and soul.

KRC camp that makes people adjust their perspective

In November 2018, I attended KRC’s camp for the first time. The morning update was given by teacher Gao Lili. She shared her visit to a home for abused girls in Cambodia, reminding us that there are many vulnerable people in need of care and assistance. I have been a Christian for many years and have served in the church for many years, but I rarely think about the world “outside the church.” This camp opened my perspective and attention to caring for the disadvantaged.

In April 2022, I had the opportunity to participate in a spring retreat. Ms. Shao Wensi gave a lecture on how to interpret contemporary pluralist culture with biblical truth. In this camp, I learned many more terms - "world view", "cultural view", etc. I have never considered that my environment and cultural habits will affect my interpretation of the Bible. The interpretation of the Bible that I originally thought may not be in line with the cultural perspective of the Bible.

As the 68th issue of the camp report "Wearing Truth Glasses and Interpreting Multiculturalism" writes:"For four days and three nights, challenging topics broadened one's horizons and inspired everyone to observe and listen with humility in front of a different culture, starting from understanding. In the Old Testament, the Israelites had to "separate" from an environment filled with idols. Be holy, so as not to follow the mainstream culture of the time; in the New Testament, the early church "entered" into increasingly wider geographical and cultural environments step by step. Because of the discernment and insight from the Holy Spirit, it became immune to facing foreign cultures. .

KRC’s camp is a camp for adjusting Christian concepts and perspectives. Every time I attend, I feel that my thoughts are stimulated and my concepts are challenged. Although the scale is small, you can share your feelings in depth, and I feel that my vision and state of mind have awakened!

Companion now builds harmonious parent-child relationship in the future

The cultural unit recently launched the series [Mobility in Heaven - Parent-Child Chapter], which became a source of topics for my son and I to talk about.

My granddaughter entered adolescence, and my son racked his brains over parenting issues. He even asked me, "Am I less controlled than her during adolescence?" I just happened to have read "Believe out of Love, Act Out of Faith", Just share the information in the article with your son.

Children need encouragement and trust, especially those in adolescence. The article mentioned that cognition and change need to be expressed through actions, so I suggested to my son that with practical encouragement and companionship, we can change the current situation that often makes him have a "heart attack."

My granddaughter likes to draw pictures, so my son plasters her drawings all over the office wall. He also likes to be a fashion designer, so he suggested that I buy materials to reward my granddaughter and encourage her to design works. This series of articles not only brought me closer to my son, but also helped me learn how to raise teenagers even at the age of becoming a grandmother.
