small gift
【Thanksgiving Praise】3

My little daughter was born on Christmas Eve. I understand that she is a Christmas gift given to me by God...
Anxiously at the school gate, waiting for my little daughter to finish school! Many children lined up and walked slowly down the stairwell of that building! well! Why can't I see my daughter? Finally, at the top of the stairs, a small hand came out holding a pot of sprouted seeds and the other hand carrying a schoolbag. She did not run directly to me, but ran to the principal who was standing at the door directing the procession after school. The principal was too busy to pay attention to her, so the little daughter also followed the principal in circles until the principal saw her, "Oh, Alice!"
She immediately bowed deeply to the principal and said: "Good-Bye, Mrs. Au!"
"Good-bye, Alice!" She said to me with a satisfied smile: "Mom, I'm saying goodbye to the principal!"
"Okay! So good. Are you walking slowly because you are holding this pot of grass? Didn't you already give it to the teacher? Why are you still holding it back and forth every day?"
The four-year-old child told me endlessly that her sister helped her collect various seeds, and she was the best in the class. In order to let other students watch the process of seed germination, the younger daughter worked tirelessly to hold the pot of grass and share it with her classmates.
A well-behaved and sensible little girl
I want to take a group of young people to go hiking. I really don’t want to take my mother-in-law and little daughter with me because I am worried that the old and the young will not be able to walk. Unexpectedly, these two mothers-in-law and grandchildren were the first to arrive at the meeting place: "Mom, I can walk, I don't need you to hold me!" That day, she actually walked the entire distance and was so hungry that she even ate an egg when she reached the top of the mountain! I really underestimated children and the elderly.
It feels really uncomfortable for a mother to travel long distances to and from work, prepare breakfast early in the morning but not be able to enjoy it with her children. I prepare three alarm clocks for my little daughter every day: one to wake up, one to wake me up for dinner, and the last one to get dressed and carry her schoolbag to go to school. The child is too young to use a key, but fortunately the school is just downstairs on the same street. She can go to school on her own, but I always feel short-changed. The child told me carefully: "Mommy, don't worry, I have a solution!"
It was many years later that she told me that she once took off her sweater while queuing at the school gate and asked the classmates behind her to button it for her. Another time I ran to line up and accidentally fell down. I got up and ran to the school office to find the secretary to help her apply red lotion... My child is so well-behaved and taught me not to be distracted when working!
The child transferred to the school where I taught, and I happened to teach her a few subjects. She always wanted to call me "Hi! Mommy!" at school, but I told her: "This is school, you must call me teacher." She seemed to understand and compromised, and followed her classmates in calling me teacher.
One day when I got home, my youngest daughter asked me confidently: "Mommy! Why didn't you choose me to join the choir to participate in the competition?" "Because I want to choose the best school to represent the competition!" "I am your daughter Yeah! Why choose someone else instead of me? ""Yes! I choose you as a backup. If you can keep discipline and sing well, you will have a chance to make up for the main candidate who is eliminated." From then on, the child studied hard and Never absent, I finally joined my championship choir and spent many days together practicing and participating in choir competitions.

The little daughter who is proud of her solo career
My brothers and sisters saw that it was hard for me to take care of the upbringing of three children: "Sister, I am going to the United States to study for a doctorate. If any of the children is willing to come with me, I can help you share the care." I discussed with the three children, which one should I take care of? Want to go? The eldest and second eldest children are afraid of going to strange places, and their aunt doesn’t speak Cantonese, let alone English! The third child said, "I like my little aunt, and I want to go with her!" She still remembered skipping and sleeping on the bed in her uncle and aunt's new house. From then on, she prepared her only big suitcase every day and put away the clothes that her sisters and brothers didn't wear. After packing the boxes every day, I would sit on it, hoping to squeeze it and pack more. Before getting on the plane, I told her to keep her money and passport and not see her aunt until we got to Seoul Airport. A small child, only twelve years old, was led onto the plane by the stewardess!
A few years later we were reunited at the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, airport, and I could barely recognize my tanned, tall, thin little daughter. She served as my tour guide to visit this academic city. I remember when a junior high school student participated in an activity among a group of Chinese students studying for Ph.D.s. She showed them the way, studied the Bible with them, and even found a neighbor from Lao Guang to make soup for her! Watching her happily enter a new learning environment and new growth challenges made me feel relieved. She enjoys countless learning experiences such as playing the saxophone, participating in French speech contests, and playing on the school football team. She said, "Mommy, I like it so much here. The teacher allows us to ask questions at will..."
When my son was six years old, he asked me, "Mommy! You have a daughter and a son," he pointed at himself and said, "Why do you still need a sister?" I told him, "Because my sister is the Christmas gift God gave me! "
My little daughter was born on Christmas Eve. I understand that she is a Christmas gift from God that I will use throughout my life.
