Grateful for the tenth year

▲The founder, Gao Lili, had a vision and called on people with expertise in various fields to join forces and work hard to provide us with this camp that brews spiritual culture.

In the ten years since the Kingdom of God Resources and Culture Practice Camp was established, students have gradually blossomed in creation, editing, translation, interviewing, and online ministry both inside and outside the church. In addition to publishing articles, writing columns, or publishing in traditional and electronic media, Books, editors, or literary awards have gradually condensed into a force that cannot be ignored.

Thanks to the Lord, we have also worked together to publish five collections of essays in the Life Tonic series, five special issues of the Literary Camp, and since 2005 we have also launched the quarterly "Kingdom of God Magazine". Each issue is now over a hundred pages thick. And all of this is done through the Internet, connecting teachers and students of writing camps scattered across North America, Taiwan, and China, relying on the Lord to experience miracles together again and again. The following is a gratitude sharing from the core team of colleagues:

It has been exactly ten years since the Pennsylvania Literary Camp was held. Ten years is neither long nor short. I myself have entered the 1940s from the 1940s to the 1950s; together with many teachers and students of the literature camp, I have experienced the family crisis period of "menopausal parents versus adolescent children". I have also encountered many transitions in marriage, ministry, work, and physical and spiritual growth. . Under such circumstances, KRC camp seems to have become a spiritual homeland that can be returned to year after year in a changing life. Therefore, many people come back every five, seven, or ten years in a row. Therefore, there was only one type of camp in 1999, but this year it has grown to fourteen types.

Over the past ten years, we have always adhered to the belief that "workers come before work, authors are more important than works, and sincerity is better than everything else." We not only teach skills and hone writing skills, but also pay attention to the renewal and reshaping of life temperament and lifestyle. Therefore, students who are attentive and conscientious often express the exclamation of being "reborn" and enter a new realm of new life, new life, and new service.

This kind of writing camp is not the end of the camp, just let each other cherish each other, but the close connection through practical experience, so that the friendship cultivated in the camp will continue to deepen, and we will pray, shepherd, care and encourage each other. Some people say that it is difficult to make close friends after graduating from college. However, in the Kingdom of God team, most of them only met after middle age, and they have become the best life partners.

Ten years, how many decades does a person have in his life? Some people have more than ten fingers to count in their lifetime. So each decade can be an important milestone in growth, and each decade also has its own set of struggles and learning lessons.

What does ten years mean to a ministry? It means starting from a vision to develop a ministry, from planting with faith to beginning to see results; from swaying, to barely standing, to developing a pattern.

In some ways, the KRC Cultural Camp is like a womb, nurturing not only talents in different fields, but also spiritual achievements. The most important thing is that in this camp, the founder Gao Lili developed various Possibilities of faith include literature, art, financial management, drama, dance, care and husband-wife relationships, etc. I believe there will be more related fields in the future, and the combination of these fields has a name, which is "culture". In other words, this womb is pregnant with the spiritual culture of Chinese Christians.

I hope that the KRC Cultural Camp can persist and survive this most challenging journey. Let us work together to continue pioneering and dedicating ourselves to cultural ministry.

Since 2005, Art Camp has joined the ranks of Literary Camp. I once said to an older sister who was worried and didn't know how to write: "As long as you can use chopsticks to eat, you can use a brush to paint." Her performance was indeed admirable!

As a teacher, the challenge is: facing students of different ages and backgrounds, how can we be a good guide? Let everyone enjoy the beautiful mountains and rivers together. As a professional painter, I am constantly impressed by the students’ potential and creativity! God’s leading has been amazing. I never thought that after working in the United States for more than 20 years, I would return to Taiwan to teach. I also never expected that I would participate in a literature camp when I returned to the United States for vacation many years ago. Not to mention the soldiers). In these ten years, we have seen God raise up a group of people to engage in the work of the “Kingdom of God.” Co-workers are spread all over the world, and thanks to the Internet connection, we are close to each other. Camp classmates are the source of the author group of "God's Kingdom Magazine". Readers are spread all over the world, and many of them are moved to send donations, which inspires us. If this is a ministry acceptable to God, I believe that God will accomplish greater things, edify believers, and spread the gospel more widely!

Since I came to the literature camp in 2000, to this day, I and my classmates are still running side by side on the road of literature ministry. "Ten years" is the milestone for trees to grow and mature, hence the idiom "it takes ten years to grow trees and a hundred years to cultivate people". Jesus likened the kingdom of heaven to a growing mustard tree, "and the birds of the air came and stayed in its branches" (Matthew 13:32). Since in the Bible, "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Kingdom of God" are terms with the same meaning and can be used interchangeably, Jesus was talking about the joyful situation of the "Kingdom of God" growing into a tree. After ten years of hard work, "Kingdom of God" has grown into a tree today. Many readers come to stay on its branches to get spiritual nourishment and renewal. I believe that Jesus will also celebrate her birthday in heaven!
