Exposing the true face of gender equality education in Taiwan
Do you feel safe letting your children "poison" books like this?
Interviewee/Duosheng
Interview/Yuqin
After the summer vacation of 2011, Taiwan's Ministry of Education plans to include "gay textbooks" in gender education in primary and secondary schools. The content of the textbook not only caused the public to be stunned: "Would it be "too extreme" to teach about eroticism and homosexuality in elementary schools?" It also frightened teachers and parents, who believed that "in the name of asking to understand gays, it actually teaches sexual liberation, which will make children Gender identity confusion!"
There are three sets of LGBT teaching materials promoted by the Ministry of Education, including the elementary school version of "How We Can Teach Gender", the junior high school version of "Teaching Gender Well" and the "Understanding LGBT Education Resource Manual" which was distributed throughout Taiwan in 2008. After it is officially implemented in September, tutors will be integrated into each subject in elementary schools; in junior high schools, at least four hours of independent courses will be held in one semester.
A group of parents, teachers, scholars, relatives, friends and people in society who care about youth education spontaneously formed the "True Love Alliance" to question the content of the lesson plan and put forward four demands. The number of signatories who agreed with the concept exceeded 220,000 in early July. This incident not only set off a storm in Taiwan, but also attracted the attention and concern of overseas Chinese. This magazine specially visited Brother Duosheng, who highly cherishes the true love family, and deeply discussed the inside story, hoping to connect Christians around the world to watch and support with truth and honesty.
Taiwan was originally a conservative society, but now it has included sexual liberation textbooks in the elementary and middle school education curriculum. Why has it come to this point? What is the crux?
After the "Gender Equality Education Act" was passed on the third reading by Taiwan's Legislative Yuan in 2004, LGBT people obtained legal status and followed the plan to obtain teaching status and enter campuses to "transform" the next generation step by step. When the Legislative Yuan passed this regulation, most people may have thought it was a law for equality between men and women. Even President Ma interpreted it as gender equality education. In fact, its regulations and implementation rules stipulate that school curricula "should cover emotional education, sex education, and gay education." Without the public being aware of it, gender equality is packaged as human rights and transformed into homosexuality, heterosexuality, and bisexuality. demands for equality.
Many gay people go abroad to learn some unethical sexual concepts, such as He Chunrui, a professor at Sun Yat-sen University who supports bestiality. Those in the Ministry of Education who are superstitious about Europe and the United States believe that these scholars are advanced and have doctorates, so they hand over the leadership of sexual issues to them, formulate biased curriculum (syllabus), and even outsource it to gay groups to compile gender equality based on the syllabus. Textbook.
▲In 2000, Taipei City held Asia’s first government-supported gay citizen movement, the “Gay Festival,” and the first “Handbook for Understanding Gays” was produced accordingly. Since then, the content has been added year by year, and the title of the book is also extremely unrestrained. Charm is distributed to various education systems and communities through website links of municipal channels and educational guidance systems to deceive students and the public. Most kind-hearted families were not alert at first. Fortunately, God reached out to protect him. He reminded the brothers and sisters in Hong Kong, and they were shocked after reading it. Several organizations that have a burden on families have joined together to form the "True Love Alliance", including a group of teachers who do not want to use toxic teaching materials to torture students, a group of worried parents who do not want their children to be misled or even curious to imitate, etc., and stand on the front line to speak out resolutely. Opposition, comrades suspected that the church was leading the obstruction. Searching the church between Christianity and Catholicism could not be found. How could they have thought that these operating hands were in heaven?
There is a lot of talk in gay circles about the "gay citizen movement" (also known as the "gay movement"). What kind of movement is it?
Homosexuality and the "gay movement" are two different things. Gays have issues with their sexual orientation, but they may not all agree with the "gay movement." The "gay movement" is the reaction of a group of wounded gays who have not healed their inner wounds. They share the same hatred and are committed to destroying traditional family values, especially Christian values.
They used the slogan of "Church Persecution", used alarmist tactics, and used all possible means. Indeed, some conservative churches in Europe and the United States have discriminated against and excluded gays, causing injured gays to win a lot of sympathy. Taiwanese comrades drew inspiration from Europe and the United States and followed the same example, claiming to be persecuted by the church and creating an image of victims.
The gay movement is equivalent to the "sexual liberation movement" and is basically about sexual promiscuity. The gay movement has been promoted in a quite organized and strategic way in Europe and the United States for fifty years, penetrating and destroying family values from all levels, including politics, law, and education. Focus on the Family pointed out that the church did not care at first. When gays introduced Harvard, Yale and other social elites to subvert the truth, the church was unable to resist and retreated steadily. The church has learned from the experience and heard that many outstanding Christian lawyers in the United States who devoutly love the Lord are devoted to defending the truth and win an average of one lawsuit every week, and the situation is beginning to reverse.
Gays in Taiwan originally belonged to a minority, but some people already occupy important positions in society. With a mentality of worshiping foreigners, they think that the United States is like this, so why can't they? The people of Taiwan are kind-hearted and sympathetic to the disadvantaged. Even when Mr. Ma Ying-jeou was the mayor of Taipei, he used taxpayers' money to subsidize gay parades. Gays from all over the world have taken a fancy to Taiwan, a friendly paradise, so they have visited, spread the word, and enthusiastically supported it, hoping to cultivate Taiwan into an important base for the gay movement!
What role does the church play in this battle?
Taiwanese people mainly follow folk beliefs, and Christians are a minority. We must be very careful to avoid triggering religious disputes. In this battle, we learned that parents, teachers, and scholars are on the front line, institutions are on the second line, and churches are on the last line. Each role takes a stand, divides labor, and cooperates to gather strength. The church can support through prayer and preaching messages, and can encourage brothers and sisters to sign the petition, but there is no need to appear in person.
Fortunately, the support rate among non-Christians is very high, and the number of signatures exceeds that among Christians, so comrades are not given any excuse to be persecuted by the church. When gay groups attacked the church and disrupted the situation, some parents responded by saying that they were not Christians and pointed out that the sexual liberation textbooks were "nonsense"! Indeed, the "right to education" and the "right to be taught" are given to parents. These two rights are higher than "human rights". Ideologies that parents disagree with must not be forcefully instilled in their children.
In the battle over "gender equality education textbooks", what touched you most deeply?
There are two aspects that particularly moved me:
God's hand intervenes─As early as March, two female pastors proposed a joint proposal at a prayer meeting. At that time, everyone doubted whether this would be useful. The two female pastors immediately started to promote it. Unexpectedly, this seemingly useless seed sprouted and blossomed in May. By mid-June, more than 200,000 people had signed the petition, and within a month the Ministry of Education was reversed.
In addition, God raises up talents who have never been in contact with each other, such as Brother Qi Ming, the spokesperson of the "True Love Alliance", and Pastor Jenny Li of "Out of Egypt", etc. to become co-workers; He also raises up media support that is not included in the plan, such as "Parents and Children World" magazine, one of its articles attracted tens of thousands of signatures; it even attracted the attention of political figures we didn’t know, and many legislators questioned the Ministry of Education with the four-point demands of the True Love Alliance... This is not our plan. Painting, let alone our strategy, is like reading the Book of Esther and seeing God personally directing this wonderful event step by step.
The power of workplace missions─This time, brothers and sisters in the education field have come forward one after another. For example, three professors and associate professors in Hsinchu carefully read the three supplementary textbooks issued to teachers by the Ministry of Education, put forward professional criticisms, and compiled them into a book. Later, the Ministry of Education commissioned them to rewrite the curriculum, and they worked tirelessly to complete it. I am very moved by the unreserved commitment of the warriors in the workplace, exerting their greatest fighting power, and achieving fruitful results!

The Internet age has shortened distances and brought people closer together. How do you expect overseas family-loving people to support and walk side by side with you?
Many schools in Hong Kong were established by missionaries and have become the mainstay of education. There is also an organization that fights against the gay movement, the Mingguang Society, so it can temporarily block gay teaching materials. The gay movement in Taiwan follows the American drama, first obtaining legal status, and then occupying educational status. Finally gain career status.
There are many places where brothers and sisters in North America, Hong Kong and overseas can help. I hope you can-
Share experience, please report to us any experience of success, failure, joy or pain. Taiwanese family lovers don’t have much experience, and they are afraid because they don’t know. In the past, anyone who spoke at a press conference would have their website blown up and their internal communications destroyed. Chinese people are gentle by nature and don't like arguments. They will inevitably want to escape and blame each other. But this time the situation is too serious and outrageous. It's time to stand up!
Share the gift, experienced professionals in education, law, especially legislation and other fields have contacted us to give us guidance.
Make noise, in fact overseas are more conservative, if they can unite and write a letter to the Ministry of Education, it will also be influential. In this era, we must make our voices heard and cannot remain silent. If this generation thinks that the matter has nothing to do with them and sits idly by, the next generation will face a very difficult battle.
▲Primary and middle school children are in the development stage from the "same-sex group friend stage" to the "same-sex close friend stage". Early exposure to these specious and generalized teachings may cause children to psychologically mistakenly believe that they are homosexual or bisexual. love. The picture shows the comic content on pages 65 to 67 of the elementary school version of "This is how we can teach gender."
In this lost era of the raging waves of the last days, what do you think is the secret for Christians to win in any battle they face?
In any battle and on the basis of mutual love-
Be of one mind to each other: The degree of our unity determines the degree to which we exercise God’s authority. Jesus commanded us to pray with one heart and one mind."Whatever is bound on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever is loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Refer to Matthew 16:9)Otherwise, there will be no way to fight in the natural world, the material world, the human world, or the spiritual world. If the brothers, sisters and co-workers of a church work together as one, the church will prosper, and if the pastors and elders of a city work together as one, they will gain a city.
Trust each other: When the network is built, fighting will be very fast. The recent smooth mobilization of Taiwanese churches is the result of the connection over the past ten years. If they do not trust the churches and institutions they are committed to, they will not be able to do anything. Therefore, the alliance in true love is the guarantee of victory.
Please share your heartfelt feelings.
Whether facing gender equality education textbooks or the gay movement, I think the church must first obtain and live out God’s truth and grace; families must first experience the renewal of life brought by God; individuals must first experience it in themselves, their families, and in the workplace. Only with the power of the gospel can we speak out to the world and influence the world.
We go out to bear witness to the gospel of the Lord Jesus, not to preach great doctrines. Ask the Lord to help us experience Himself first before proclaiming His truth to the world.

What exactly does “gender equality education” teach?
When Taiwanese parents watch their children enter school, do they know what these children have learned?

The demands of the True Love Alliance
1. We respect and do not discriminate against individuals’ gender orientation, but we oppose the inclusion of teaching materials on polysexuality, polyfamily, and polymarriage in primary and secondary education.
2. Immediately stop distributing current inappropriate teacher resource manuals, lesson plans, and teaching materials to primary and secondary schools across the country, stop conducting relevant study activities, and re-edit them.
3. When re-editing, a considerable amount of space should be included in the discussion of gender education that is “different from the concept of sexual liberation”. Gender education experts cannot only include those with a single viewpoint. Parents, adolescent and child psychological development scholars, as well as life education, character education, curriculum experts, and professionals who are good at ethical issues should be invited to participate.
4. As for solving the practical problems of gender discrimination/bullying, gender identity, and gender temperament stereotypes, we should be more active in teaching life education, character education, and appropriate sex education, rather than just passively teaching sexual liberation, safe sex, and Gay education.
The Education Committee of the Legislative Yuan has tasked the Ministry of Education to re-discuss the revision of the "Gender Equality Education" syllabus and teaching materials. However, before the revised syllabus and re-edited teaching materials are implemented, continuing to push for joint signatures is a urging force that continues to express demands.
