[Is it suitable for Christians to engage in direct selling in the church? 】
Pastor’s Response 2
Interview/Luo Qihua
Many people become irritated when it comes to "direct selling". Direct selling itself has a strong driving force, which will bring temporary excitement and momentum. If you are not careful, this momentum can easily turn into pressure. The reason why direct selling is controversial is that some people do not know how to strike a balance between impulse and pressure. This does require a very mature person to handle it appropriately.
Most people are attracted by the high profits of direct selling and invest in this industry. However, if the marketing method is improper and makes people feel that they are purely making money for themselves, misunderstandings and injuries will inevitably occur. There are not many people who are truly selfless, and the negative image of direct selling is hard to overcome. obliterate. Therefore, ordinary pastors tend to avoid confusion, misunderstandings, and suspicions, and feel that it does more harm than good, and it is better not to involve them in the church.
As for whether Christians are suitable to engage in direct sales in churches? This is completely different from person to person and has nothing to do with right or wrong, morality or immorality, reasonableness or unreasonability, because some people can do it just right. Direct selling is a legal profit-making enterprise, and there is nothing wrong with seeking profits, but the motives and methods must be right, and more importantly, the people must be right; if the people are wrong, no matter how good the industry is, it will become self-interested at the expense of others.
I have seen brothers and sisters who have wonderful testimonies in the direct selling industry. They not only love the Lord, but also help others after making money. I have also seen some brothers and sisters who are opposed to it because of bad experiences. Business transactions in the church can easily cause stumbling blocks and breaches, leading to numerous negative impacts. However, a few churches firmly disapprove of the direct selling industry and regard it as inferior work and despise it. I am afraid it is too extreme and overcorrected. Given that direct selling is so controversial,It is recommended that pastors teach their brothers and sisters well, be gentle and supportive, support them with love, and deal with them with a mature attitude; they must not deny them completely to avoid misunderstandings and harm among members. It would be a pity if there is a lack of teaching and love and a categorical approach to things with a legalistic mentality, forcing members to leave the church. The pastor’s original intention is not to give Satan a place, but instead causes strife.
