Cultivating talents with a coaching perspective
The importance of nurturing talent to an organization is self-evident. The leaders of any organization, including churches, need to understand the concepts and practices of recognizing, educating, employing, and retaining people, and be able to see the innermost side of people. As Father Anselm Grün said: "The key to employing people is to awaken each worker's inner ability." And "coaching" is a very effective way.
Identifying people: Who needs and is suitable for coaching?
2012年,美國職籃NBA傳奇性亞裔運動員林書豪造成一股風潮,只要有一記妙投,他就舉手指天,將榮耀歸與神。一個新的名詞 Linsanity(中譯「林來瘋」,意思是迅速成為時尚、潮流的人)出現了。
1. Willing to do the best he or she can.
2. Ability to plan a vision for the future.
3. Able to accept discipline training and undertake plans.
4. Be willing to adjust your life and schedule.
5. Value others and be able to reach decisions through cooperation.
6. Willing to receive training to solve self-issues.
7. Be willing to transcend your own assumptions, stereotypes and preferences.
8. Those who want to change and grow to become more conscious and competent.
▲The key to employing people is to awaken the inner ability of workers. Coaching is an effective way.
Educating people: Characteristics of talent development
Guanzi said: "A ten-year plan is better than growing trees; a lifelong plan is better than cultivating people." Liang Zhangju of the Qing Dynasty said: "It takes ten years to cultivate trees and a hundred years to cultivate people." "A hundred years to cultivate people", because cultivating and developing talents is the most expensive. It's not easy at times, but it's a long-term solution.
In the past few years, whether training in coaching certification classes or going to companies (groups) for senior executive training, they have found that developing talents is not easy, but it is a necessary investment. But conceptually, companies know that cultivating talents is important, but in practice, they are reluctant to spare time and money. They regard the cost of talent cultivation as an "expenditure cost" rather than an "investment."
Not long ago I had a phone call with the CEO of a Guangzhou group. The senior management teams of the seven companies under the group have received coaching leadership courses tailored by me for the group over the past five months. She shared two good news: First, she used coaching methods to talk to a supervisor, clarified the work boundaries between personal and company responsibilities, and reached a consensus; second, the senior management team now uses "appreciative feedback" and " Leading team members through the "correction sandwich" communication method gradually gathered a positive energy, which not only improved performance, but also improved working relationships.
God is guiding and tempering us throughout our lives, whether in good times or bad, with the purpose of allowing us to develop and grow, change and act, because “the God of all grace has called you to his eternal eternity in Christ.” Glory Himself, after you have suffered a little while, will perfect you, strengthen you, and give you strength.” (1 Peter 5:10)
從一生的觀點進行人才培訓,要知道幾件事 3:
1. Development is a period of time: there is no development without "time", and growth is also the road to development. In the Book of Genesis, Joseph was sold to Egypt by his brothers, faced temptation, went to prison, interpreted dreams for the king, and became prime minister for many years, managing years of good times and preventing years of disaster. God had a long-term vision and made clever arrangements. He spent decades tempering Joseph.
2. Development is gradual learning and growth: Development will not reach the sky in one step, nor will it completely change when you wake up. Learning occurs in stages, from infancy to childhood, to adolescence and youth, to adulthood to old age. Different stages have different learning and growth goals, and God also gives us different learning opportunities. “We must fear the LORD our God, who gives us rain in its season, the autumn and the spring rains, and makes appointed seasons for us to harvest, which will never fail.” (Jeremiah 5:24) “He will be like a tree, Planted by streams, it bears fruit in its season, and its leaves do not wither.” (Reference Psalm 1:3)
3. The aspects of development are diverse: "Do not let others look down upon you for your youth, but set an example for believers in word, conduct, love, faith, and purity." (1 Timothy 4:12) This The scripture talks about five aspects: speech, behavior, love, faith, and purity, which can be learned, cultivated and cultivated. In the process of development, "Every branch of Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; every branch that bears fruit He prunes it, so that it will bear more fruit." (John 15:2) The ultimate purpose of pruning is: “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and you are my disciples.” (John 15:8)
4. Development goals and strategies: I once went to a company with 1,500 people and had one-on-one coaching with the boss. He expects to retire in five years, but the team is in a lean state. What should we do? I asked a few questions: What is the company’s development vision in five to ten years? How is the team doing now? To achieve the development vision, what are the strategies and goals for talent development?
These questions relate to goals and strategies. "And let our people learn to live a good life and prepare what they need, so that they will not be unfruitful." (Titus 3:14) "The fruit of the light is all goodness, righteousness, and truth." (Eph. Josiah 5:9) As far as talents are concerned, "fruit" is not only professional ability, but also the cultivation of attitude and personality.
5. Development is a cooperative relationship: A study of the entire Bible will reveal that God wants people to participate in His eternal plan of redemption. There are 132 verses that say "God is with man". When God created man from the beginning, he made a clear promise to "be with him" and promised, "When you sojourn in this land, I will be with you and bless you." (Refer to Genesis 26:3) and "Wherever you go, I will be with you and bless you." Wherever you go, I will protect you and bring you back to this land, and I will never abandon you until I fulfill my promise to you.” (Refer to Genesis 28:15) It was the same in the New Testament era, “The disciples went out, Proclaiming the gospel everywhere, and the Lord working with them, confirming the message with signs” (Mark 16:20) So the disciples knew that they were “workers together with God” (see 1 Corinthians 3). :9) .
Employers: Coaches focus on “change”
Without change, nothing will happen! Change is inevitable, and the process of growth is the miracle of change. "Now I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:51)
Our physical appearance changes with age, our minds and hearts change with age, our knowledge and experience increase with age, and the most important thing is the change of life - "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; Everything has become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
▲If you inspire others to dream more, learn more, act more and change more, you are a leader.
Retaining people: The coach’s spirit is the companion that affects life
God is gracious and accompanying us, and is an example for us to follow.
1. In the beginning God gave a promise: "I will be with you and bless you..." (Refer to Genesis 26:3)
2. Promise to accompany you throughout your life: "No matter where you go, I will protect you...I will never leave you until I fulfill my promise to you." (Refer to Genesis 28:15)
3. Inspire and encourage us: "Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (Refer to Joshua 1:9)
4. Give strength and support: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)
5. Protect us in difficult times: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; when you walk through the rivers, they will not overflow you; when you walk through fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flames touch you. ” (Isaiah 43:2)
Motivational speaker Simon Sinek says, “If you inspire others to dream more, learn more, act more and change more, you are a leader.” Whether you are a business Bosses or supervisors, church pastors or co-workers, school teachers or parents at home all shoulder the mission of cultivating talents. As God has made us, so we can make others.
