deliberate attention

A few years ago, when I visited Moody Church in downtown Chicago, I had to park a few blocks away. The parking lot staff pointed to a small seat, and the husband shook his head and said, "It's impossible."

The parking guy motioned for us to get out of the car and let him take over the steering wheel. I saw the car moving forward and backward, sliding into the narrow parking space, with less than a foot difference between the car next to it.

The eldest brother asked, is this your first time coming to church? Only then did I notice that his name tag was not a parking lot employee, but a receptionist from Moody Church. He pointed out how to get to the church and then loudly wished us a good day.

From the beginning to the end, the parking man had a smile on his face, making us feel his passion for people and this service in the near-freezing wind. The parking guy is the best entertainer I've ever seen: he makes a conscious effort to interact with everyone because the parking lot is his altar.

We pay careful attention to the times and culture because God first pays careful attention to our lives.

The almighty Lord who controls history gives His children unique experiences, expertise, vision, and abilities. This was true for the prophet Daniel, and so is it for us today. Therefore, we can glorify Him and proclaim Him as royal priests wherever we are.

In addition to focusing on the depth, breadth, and height of article content, the editorial team also pays attention to details. The entire magazine needs to be proofread at least five times to see if there are any typos, whether the punctuation is appropriate, and whether the pictures convey the idea... The proofreading staff stared at the square words on the screen and checked dictionaries, Bibles, and various sources of information.

Such rigorous determination comes from respect for the work in hand; using words as the altar, we are determined to give the best to the Lord who regards us as the meticulous masterpieces in our hands, to glorifyHim, publicizeHim.
