Passion and Calling - Life Sketch of the Editorial Team of "Kingdom of God Magazine"
CS Lewis is known as the greatest Christian writer of the 20th century. His readership is so wide, and he is loved and respected so deeply that almost no one can match him. No one knows the secret behind Lewis's numerous works, but the "Inklings" he attended regularly every week when he was at Oxford University had a great influence on his life. In this group, they freely share and discuss each other's articles, and the members' wise responses and continuous dialogues maintain meaningful gatherings over the years, laying a solid foundation for Master Lu Yi's thinking ability.
Although the editorial team of "The Kingdom of God" (hereinafter referred to as "The Kingdom of God") cannot meet every week like the "Tianmohui", we can discuss it at any time through the phone and the Internet. Over the years, this group of writers has become both a teacher and a friend. When a hobby group finds that each other has the same preferences and values, teamwork, trust, tacit understanding, and friendship will emerge.
Li Wu Shuyi shares: Passion and calling
During the two-day editorial meeting from February 29 to March 1, 2008, Mr. Gao Lili specially invited Ms. Li Wu Shuyi, a director of "Jiaosheng" and a consultant of this magazine, to come to Pennsylvania from New York to share the news. Li Wu Shuyi used the familiar Moses as the theme of the message. She pointed out that the third chapter of Exodus is the final message in the Old Testament. Without the third chapter, the subsequent development will be meaningless. The turning point in Moses' life began when he "stepped out of the palace" and truly understood the connection between God, the world, and himself. Moses saw that in his past, he was a privileged person who enjoyed his "comfort zone" and was even an accomplice in the oppression of the disadvantaged. Looking back at ourselves, isn’t it true?
Li Wu Shuyi reminds us: Have we felt the profound experience of Moses? From the flames of the bush, Moses saw the pain "man-inflicted" in this world, and couldn't help asking: "Why do people suffer because of others?" "Why do people have such privileges to abuse others?" Today's sufferers hiding in the shadows of society Do churches and Christians turn a blind eye to the abuse of women, the problem of child prostitution, and the suffering of vulnerable groups? Has the struggle in Moses’ heart ever become the struggle in our hearts?
Moses made the most important decision in his life: he was "willing to give up" being the son of Pharaoh's daughter, and "rather" to suffer with God's people, because he knew who to live for and why to live. This is the key to the change in Moses’ life. Are we willing to respond to God’s passion and calling like Moses?
Gao Lili shares: Editor challenges again
Teacher Gao Lili, the founder of "Kingdom of God", hopes that the above sharing will bring us greater inspiration and reflection, and also proposes five major challenges to the editorial team:
1. Moving towards ten years: We started the writing camp with Teacher Su Wen’an in 1999. This year will be the tenth year. All pursuits are to “give out” – to be used by the Lord. Just like a ship, it must be sailed out to be effective, otherwise it will be a broken ship.
2. Inheritance of new blood: Take the initiative to get to know the “new blood” and ask yourself: “In five or ten years, will someone be able to pick up my stick?” Especially the training classes and advanced classes of the cultural camp are the key to discovering new blood. We need to pay the price to find the best channel.
3. Establish an author group: Ask the author if you can introduce other authors; cherish every author you come into contact with, and send out thank you cards as soon as the article comes out, which can help build and expand your network.
4. Thank you to the special editor: Every editor here was once Mr. Su’s student in the writing camp. I would like to thank him for taking the time to read every article and every word and turn it into an article that is approachable, readable, knowable, and feasible. Cherish and grasp our best editor-in-chief─Teacher Su Wen'an.
5. Editorial attitude: The editorial team of "Kingdom of God" must be able to accept different viewpoints, but must have its own position. Don't cover up the whole with partiality, let alone polarization, let yourself learn to be sensitive, and don't easily say that you are the orthodox!
