Love to Hear You Speak

Giving the Songs of Our Time Meaning and Strength

A careful reading of “The Voice of Silence” by Stepanie Yang, published in Issue 81, resonated deeply with me. As someone born and raised in Taiwan until nearly the age of thirty, and as a first-generation Taiwanese American immigrant for more than forty years, I found myself saying, “Amen, amen, and amen!” Without a historical perspective firmly grounded in Kingdom values and a pen capable of piercing straight to the heart of the matter, it would have been impossible to produce a work of such depth, breadth, and warmth.

Aptly as the author writes, “God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He has placed us at this particular moment in history for His own purposes and plans; each of us also has a responsibility and a role to fulfill.” Indeed, those who came before us sang the songs of their people in their generation. My prayer is that today, I may help those songs speak anew—bringing fresh understanding and renewed strength to them.

Worship Through Reading

As a new reader of KRC, I truly feel that I discovered this outstanding magazine far too late. After returning from the 2026 Spring Retreat, I read several issues in succession and was deeply moved by both the depth and the warmth of their content. More importantly, I received genuine spiritual nourishment and encouragement through its pages.

In Issue 81's "Stepping Away from the Editorial Desk," editor Lin Min-wen's article "Holy, Holy, Holy" moved me in a particular way. Before reading this piece, I had already seen far too many friends' posts and "check-ins" on social media, and my heart was already filled with longing for the Sagrada Família. Yet I had never read an account so finely detailed, unfolding layer upon layer; this article reads more like an in-depth spiritual guide. I can't help but think that if I ever have the chance to visit in person, this piece will surely serve as my "guide" within the Sagrada Família.

The author's words flow like living water—delicate, precise, and powerful—leaving the reader unable to help but marvel, and moved to heartfelt gratitude: what a wonderful gift this is, given by God! Such a gift for writing is not merely a display of skill, but the overflow of a life that has been renewed and is being used by Him.

For an edifice as grand, multilayered, and laden with profound faith as the Sagrada Família, no words could ever fully capture it. A merely general account would easily remain superficial. Yet the author, through remarkably concrete description, leads readers in step by step—engaging not only the visual details but the heart and spirit as well. The whole piece feels like a full, immersive experience for the whole person, turning the very act of reading into an act of worship. I am convinced that readers are truly blessed to encounter such a piece.

By contrast, in today's travel culture, countless people come to places like this only to snap a quick photo and move on. How many are truly willing to pause, take it in with their hearts, and let that sense of awe settle deeply within—even let it transform into a response that shapes their lives?

I bowed my head in prayer: Lord, grant us eyes that can truly see, and a heart willing to be moved and renewed. May we, when we encounter these witnesses that carry both faith and beauty, not merely "see" them, but truly enter into their mystery.

Thank you to the KRC editorial team for your dedication. May the Lord continue to use your words to be a blessing in the lives of many more.
